The Ashburton / Hakatere River Trail is an easy walk, run or cycle stretching approximately 19km from the Ashburton township to the coast at Hakatere, with minimal elevation through willow-lined riverbanks, farmland, and braided river landscapes.
The trail has several access points allowing the option to enjoy sections individually, while the changing scenery provides variety and interest along the whole track.
